lyrics

Where you think my place is
If you think I belong here or not
Whether you approve of my choices

If you don’t like how I speak
How I dress, how I think
If it is uncomfortable to listen to what I have to say

If you don’t like the curve of my hip
The crease in my skin
The sting of my lip

You think if you can make me hate this
Body, make me hate this face
You’ll make me buy what’s on your glossy pages
Make me work for a man but take no wages

You’ve engaged in a conspiracy
With the man that’s lying next to me
Because when you tell me you don’t like what you see
And he says that he agrees
That makes me more likely to get down on my knees
To keep his house clean
My sweat, my tears
Serve to oil your machine
But first you have to make me believe
You have to make me believe
That there is something wrong with me
And I’m done
I’m done seeing what you see
I’m done pleasing just to please
I don’t give a shit what you think
