Ready

|

I am here
I am ready I am proud I am strong
We are here
We are steady we are loud we are strong
We’ve been waiting in the wings, but we’re coming out to sing now
The night’s been dark for so long, and we’re ready for some dawn now
Are you ready?
I can feel that something’s coming, I can hear the distant drumming now
Now I realize that it’s coming from inside now
Can’t tell if I’m on solid ground
It’s too late to turn around now
Can’t see what’s up ahead
Just breathe in, breathe out
I don’t got a map I hope I’m on the right path now
Everything is happening
Breathe in, breathe out
5-4-3-2-1
Are you ready?

Irregular
02:55
|
|||
Yeah, I heard you
I did not listen to you
I heard you
I heard you tell me what to say
Heard you mispronounce my name
Try to make us all the same
Heard the instructions that you gave me
The way you wanna make me
Not gonna let you tame me
I got no shame
I wanna be irregular
Not gonna follow all your plans
Be locked down by any man
Want to adventure all I can
You’ll never understand us
Breaking out your handcuffs
You tell us not to stand up
I’ll raise my hand
I wanna be irregular
My girl she said goodbye
To all that 9 to 5
She gonna live her life
She said she realized
How she wasted so much time
Now she says she wants to try out
A different style
She wanna be irregular
Mary Mary quite contrary
She don’t want no ordinary
Yeah I heard you
I did not listen to you
I heard you
Ragtag, misfit
Threw away the blueprint
We don’t got no interest
Unless it’s different
We wanna be irregular
(Mary Mary quite contrary
She don’t want no ordinary)
Yeah I heard you
I did not listen to you
I heard you
Yeah we heard you
We did not listen to you
We heard you

Fade Away
03:11
|
|||
Cover up my eyes
So that I can’t look outside
And I wonder what is there to see
I’m wandering the floors
And I’m trying all the doors
Wonder if I’ll ever find the key
I wanna wake up to a different day
When all these ceilings and these walls just f-f-f-f-f-fade away
Fade away
I keep on growing taller
And these rooms are feeling smaller
Lungs are aching for a chance to breathe
I wanna feel the air
As it’s running through my hair
Skin is hungering to taste the breeze
Hoping, waiting for that day
When I can feel what it is to be free
There’s no sign of an end to this night
Still I know that I got to believe
I wanna wake up to a different day
When all these ceilings and these walls just f-f-f-f-f-fade away
Fade away
I wanna wake up to a different day
When all these ceilings and these walls just fade away
I wanna wake up to a different day
I wanna wake up to a different day
When all these ceilings and these walls just -

Stand
03:09
|
|||
What’s she wearing, where’d she go?
All good girls should stay at home
Grab her on the sidewalk, grab her on the train
You can take what you want, she’ll take the blame
Get on your feet
Rise
Get out in the street
Stand
Too fat, too loud, can’t take a joke
If we don’t need her body, won’t fix it when it’s broke
Incubator, amusement park
You can do what you want with her in the dark
Get on your feet
Rise
Get out in the street
Stand
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Put her on the frontline, she’s essential
Won’t keep her safe cuz she’s expendable
Stay home, she’ll take care of you
Forget about her kids and family too
Get on your feet
Rise
Get out in the street
Stand

I Don't
02:07
|
|||
Where you think my place is
If you think I belong here or not
Whether you approve of my choices
If you don’t like how I speak
How I dress, how I think
If it is uncomfortable to listen to what I have to say
If you don’t like the curve of my hip
The crease in my skin
The sting of my lip
You think if you can make me hate this
Body, make me hate this face
You’ll make me buy what’s on your glossy pages
Make me work for a man but take no wages
You’ve engaged in a conspiracy
With the man that’s lying next to me
Because when you tell me you don’t like what you see
And he says that he agrees
That makes me more likely to get down on my knees
To keep his house clean
My sweat, my tears
Serve to oil your machine
But first you have to make me believe
You have to make me believe
That there is something wrong with me
And I’m done
I’m done seeing what you see
I’m done pleasing just to please
I don’t give a shit what you think

Take It Back
04:03
|
|||
Walking through the street with a fistful of keys
Everything recorded on CCTV
Said we'd be safe if we trust the police
Got a body full of scars that would disagree
Did we say it was OK? (No no no no)
That you take this space? (No no no no)
But you did it anyway (So so so so)
You had your chance, now we take it back (ha!)
Don't buy in to your original sin
Didn't eat no apple, didn't come from no rib
You're talking all the time and I'm getting pretty sick
Of these people I don't know trying to tell me how to live
Took my thoughts, took my words
Passed them off like they were yours
Got your boys to lie, you got some kinda nerve
It's about time that the truth be heard
Did I say it was OK? (No no no no)
To take the things I never gave? (No no no no)
But you did it anyway (So so so so)
You had your chance, gonna take it back (ha!)
To the boys on the street, to the popes and the priest
You had your chance, gonna take it back (ha!)
There's a thief in this house
There's a thief in this house, there's a thief in this house
There's a thief, there's a liar, there's a cheat in this house
We've tried your way, but we didn't have a say
Looking around at the mess that you made
It's about time that your debts were paid
So take a final bow and get off the stage
To the boys on the street, to the popes and the priest
You had your chance, gonna take it back (ha!)
Next time we meet, gonna bring receipts
You had your chance gonna take it back (ha!)
I did not consent to all the time that I spent
Feeling ugly in my skin, feeling guilty for your sins
I did not agree that you could take a piece of me
Not my body, not my time, now I’m taking back what’s mine
This is a war
We fight the same devil on both sides of the door
Does the hit hurt more when it’s the hand that once held you?
Does the fist feel worse when the fingers are familiar?
Who can we trust?
As our sanctuaries turn to dust?
Trust yourself: no one else will save us.

Monster
03:25
|
|||
I had a dream the other day
We were all standing at the gate
The moon was burning in sky
I heard our voices in the night
Shouting at the windows
Screaming at the guards
Pounding down the doorway
Tearing down the walls
Let the monster in the house
Let the monster in the house
Let the monster in the house
Chase the family out
I had a dream the other day
We had just one chance to be saved
We held our breath and closed our eyes
And step by step we pushed inside
Shouting at the windows
Screaming at the guards
Pounding down the doorway
Tearing down the walls
Let the monster in the house
(I had a dream the other day)
Let the monster in the house
(I had a dream the other day)
Let the monster in the house
Chase the family out
Let the monster in the house
(We had just one chance to be saved)
Let the monster in the house
(I had a dream the other day)
Let the monster in the house
Chase the family out

A Different Kind of Love
03:12
|
|||
Nobody gonna waste my time
Gonna take what’s mine
Gonna make me cry
Nobody gonna keep me down
Gonna mess around
Gonna make me frown
I want a different kind of love
Come make it with me
Nobody gonna patronize
Gonna roll their eyes
Gonna tell me lies
Nobody gonna lock my door
I am not afraid to go
I am happy on my own
Nobody sweep me off my feet
I don’t need to be completed
I got everything I need
I want a different kind of love
Come make it with me
I want to want and not to need
Done with insecurity
I want an equal not a leader
Want you to keep up with me
Every day is new
Every day I choose you
Every day is new
Every day I wanna make a different kind of love
I want a different kind of love
Come make it with me

Be My Revolution
03:12
|
|||
Feel it on my skin
That the wind is blowing differently
See it in the mirror
In the face that's looking back at me
Hear you knocking on my door
Now you're here I can't ignore
Try to block you out
But you keep on getting louder
Try to hold back but
Can't fight the attraction
Storm my walls and take me
Break me down and change me
Shake me up and wake me
Be my revolution
Touch me
Move me
Free me, liberate me
Be my revolution
You're thrilling, you're intoxicating
Radical, exhilarating
Hanging on your words
Onto everything you say
When you rise up inside of me
I can't control the things I feel
No more hesitation
Gonna join the demonstration
Burning with passion
I need direct action
Storm my walls and take me
Break me down and change me
Shake me up and wake me
Be my revolution
Touch me
Move me
Free me, liberate me
Be my revolution
Be my revolution
Change my constitution
Marching through my streets
You got me on my knees
Ready now to follow you
Anywhere you lead
Throw away my statues
I wanna be something new
I don't know where we're headed
I just know it's somewhere better
Leaving the past
I won't ever go back
Be the change that I can see the change
Be the change I can believe in
Make me a believer
Storm my walls and take me
Break me down and change me
Shake me up and wake me
Be my revolution
Touch me
Move me
Free me, liberate me
Be my revolution
Be my revolution
Change my constitution

Following my feet
Turned onto the corner
Where we used to meet
I used to laugh at all your lines
Lips frozen in a smile
Sat just sipping on my drink
While I listened to you speak
Standing there today
Looking at this place
I think, I think
Ooh I feel proud
At how much you would not like me now
Ooh I feel proud
At how much you would not like me now
You’d probably say that I’m too loud
You would not like the voice that I have found
But I do, I do, I do, I do
I let you take the lead
Let you choose what we were doing
Every single week
You never asked the question
To be fair, I never mentioned
Places I would rather be
People I would rather see
Just a decoration
Standing pretty by your side
Boost your reputation
Lowering my gaze
Never making any waves
But I’ve changed, I’ve changed
Ooh I feel proud
At how much you would not like me now
Ooh I feel proud
At how much you would not like me now
You’d probably say that I’m too loud
You would not like the voice that I have found
But I do, I do, I do, I do
No you would not like me now
I didn’t at the time but now I do
I’m stronger than the younger girl you knew
No longer staying in the corner of the room
I didn’t at the time but now I do
I’m stronger than the younger girl you knew
And I forgive myself for what I put her through
And I forgive myself for what I put her through
